how can I flash my car back to stock..
I have a tune on my vehicle, and I want it back to stock but I have no way of going to the place where the people flashed my vehicle, is there any way I can flash the ECU back to stock?

Actually, it's not a complication. I'm just wondering is there another way to do it? Like, the place is FAR from me to re-flash to stock. Can I go to dealer to have them re-program? And if I can, will they charge me or something? Just need some help!

1. installation/uninstallation problems
2. limp mode 3. blowing charge pipes 4. extra engine/transmission wear 5. busted warranty If there are any other issues I missed, please tell me.

Bringing it to the dealer and having them reflash will cost you. It'll be a couple hundred bucks at least.

2. Buy the cobb ap handheld flasher from someone 3. Flash your car, then unflash your car, with the flasher 4. Take a picture of it, and post it for sale in the for sale section Because of the extremely high resale value of the cobb ap, you should only be out the shipping and handling cost, from the original seller. That's about $25 bucks out of pocket, with a little work, vs, rape at the stealership. |

FYI, standard flash memory is designed such that to reprogram, the memory space is first "erased" to all FFFFs (Hex), and then reflashed with the new code. Some flash designs allow erasing blocks, and not the entire array, but any area that is going to get reprogrammed gets erased first.
If you have questions, ask the vendor who is selling you your new tune the details of the reflash.

2. maintenance issues not tune issues. many codes are due to misfires, and are solved with spark plugs or coils. 3. a couple cases but not a huge problem. Never an issue with my car. 4. cars here have been tuned since new. many tuned high mileage cars. 5. If you dont clear your codes yes, but then again, its up to the user to clear the codes. Race a aftermarket tuned car and you will be SHREDDED to pieces. bmw performance package is garbage compared to a real aftermarket tune. (giac, cobb, jb4, procede, and more) |

Just take it to the dealer and ask them to flash your car with the latest version of the factory software - it should cost about $150 or so (1 hour labor charge). That's the only safe way to do this.
