Continental ExtremeContact DWS (non-run-flats) ... use them on my E92 and they are amazing.

I have a can of fix-a-flat, a AAA card, and a cell phone. Not sure that you need much more.

I'd put run-flats on for sure. If fix-a-flat won't fix it I don't know what AAA would do without another wheel and tire.. seem like a lot of hassle..

I think it's definitely up to individual preference. When I get my F30, the first thing I'm doing is taking the run-flats off and putting on non-run-flat tires. I hate run flats! They're not nearly as good of a tire. But, I suppose that there are some concerns....but with 24/7 roadside assistance, do you really need to worry about it?

Yeah I'm not so sure I want to put run flat snow tires on either. I guess time will tell. Hopefully by October tire rack will have some packages < 1100$

Speaking of Tires - Are you installing TPMS in your aftermarket tires?

Hey all,

Speaking of tires, are you installing Tire Pressure Monitoring System in your aftermarket tires? Tirerack is indicating that you must install 433MHz Tire Pressure Sensors if your vehicle has it (some states require this to pass inspections).

Are there any downsides to not installing the TPMS? Obviously you can't monitor the tires via iDrive and you have to keep track of tire pressure manually. Any other down sides?

I mean you could take out the ones from your Summer wheel set but that just makes for more work and isn't really a solution. Just considering my options for next winter. It's a good thing I don't need to worry about this for this season.

Comments, welcome.

I just thought about it and I'm going to hold off until the fall, he can buy them in Canada - will save a lot of space on the move up..

curious myself

i think you get that "ding" noise in the car repeatedly

also does anyone know if 433MHz will work? specifically the ones from e9x?

I'm wondering this too. I didn't have them put in when I had a G37 and all you'd get was a warning light, but no dinging sound.

Continental (DSW) dry, wet & snow and people are really happy with the performance they get from those tires but the tire it self has a wear indicator after about 6-10k miles you lose W so now you are only good for Dry and wet another 20-25 you lose wet also after that you are only good for Dry weather so for a winter tire it is not a good idea.

I am all about Blizzak tires tried so many different winter tires Bridgestone was the best but i am definitely not putting RFL tires for winter and even may be for summer also.

In last 10 Years i used my spare tire 2 or may be 3 times that is it. other than that you are getting warned by the computer you have a low air pressure and all these tires don't go flat right away as long as you don't a slash or giant hole on your tire. And like they say you shouldn't be repairing your run flat tire anyways.

So they are saying every time you will be spending about $300 on your tire of course if your vehicle is xdrive than you are SOL because you need to change all 4 now.

My advice to you is just a carry an air pump in your trunk and pay attention to your TPMS you should be fine.
