Looking for tires for 16s
My grandfather has a set of 16s on his 07 328 (non sport) e90. He has always complained about the RFTs and wants to get taditional tires.
His current set up is 205/55 r16 square set up wrapped around 156s. In addition to getting traditional tires, he would also like to get a tire that is "meatier"(thicker). I believe this is called the aspect ratio. How much of an increase in the aspect ratio can was go with outside of the OEM specs? Also if anyone can recommend any particular brand for this specs. I use Conti DWS for my 19" SF71s and swear by them. Joe

He could get 215/55/16 for a bit bigger tire.

Remmib is right. 215/55R16 is a good size to use. It is slightly taller and wider (IE "meatier") and fits the stock wheel with no problem.
If the grandfather is looking for a very soft and quiet ride he may want to consider the Michelin Primacy MXV4. For something sportier handling but still a good ride, many have been happy with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Tires http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AH8&...ires/index.jsp
