That sounds like BBS offsets. Depends on tire size as well.

Look at your invoice

If I was to guess 12-15 on an e90 would be the way to go on the back.

Mount the wheels with tires, drive it for a day or so to let things settle and then measure in millimeter the gap from the tire/rim to the fender then buy the appropriate spacer.

This is the best advice.

I have a question though - for us with LCI rear tracks, I see a lot of vendors recommending 38ish for the offset? If you have a stock 40 and need want to go down to 30 (so you can get a hubcentric spacer), won't that be too aggressive for LCI?

So what can we run on the rears of an LCI without fender roll (maximum combined offset of wheel + spacer)?

C'mon you spacer gurus. I installed a rear BBK yesterday and have maybe one or two playing cards of clearance. I need to know how far to push my LCI.

It depends on the wheel and tire make. Not all wheel makes fit the same. In other words, one manufacturer's wheel w/et 38 offset may fit closer to an et35 in another manufacturer's offset.

Also each tire manufacturer's tires fit a bit different. Eg. a 265 PSS 3's fit more like a 275 size tires from another manufacturer.

The best thing to do is, pick your wheels and tires, get them installed then measure the distance to determine how much more agressive you can go with the offset without the need to roll fenders.

I am now running et 30 on 19's 8.5 front and 9.5 rear lowered without issue. My wheels were ordered in et35 offset, so I determined I could add 5mm spacers with my set-up.

Yep, understand the shoulder of the tire thing. The offset though, as measured from the hub, shouldn't vary that much. If I'm going to throw on a spacer, I want it hubcentric which means at least 10mm, so 2mm tolerance won't really be a big deal.

I just don't understand why vendors are stating that the LCI track is wider, so 38-44 offset for rears (total) and then people are throwing on spacers to bring it closer to 30 or below on rears. If that is the case, why not just get wheels that are ok for pre-LCI?

There is no doubt about it that the rear track of the lci is wider. When I first started looking for wheels vendors were recommending et40 in the rear with a 9.5" wheel for a more oem like fitment. I think they were just being conservative and as more people started throwing on more agressive offsets without issue the recommended offset came down to et38 and now many vendors are recommending as low as et35 and even et33 as a more aggressive offset depending on tire size.

I remember reading reports of rubbing issues on lci cars with certain wheels/tires with et30 9.5" rear wheel, which is the recommended aggressive offset for the pre lci. I even read reports of issues w/et33 on lci cars. Vendors don't want to recommend anything that could come back to haunt them.

As for spacers, are you only considering 10mm because it's hubcentric? Anything under 5mm or even 8mm should fit nice, flush and snug within the chamfered edge of the wheel to ensure an even contact patch with the hub to prevent vibration issues. My spacers (5mm) fit like a glove without issue. But def anything 10mm and over you want a hubcentric spacer. Personally I wouldn't go over 12mm.

^ Less than 10 = no rubbing. Mine are for sale/trade for 3,5,7 or 8mm.
