Can't decide the finish of new rims.

Hi guys , I'm in the market for some new rims. I have a white e90 and I can't decide between a matte black finish or an aluminum finish. The car is not heavily modded just lowered on eibach spprings, 35% tint and blacked out grill. btw I am getting Vertini Magic wheels in 19s.

funny you mention this because I want to do something similar to what you are doing and would love to hear peoples opinions. Personally I think a set of matte black 19's with 35 tint and black kidney would look pretty sick but I don't want to make it look ghetto.

So, no on the black rims? there are lots of white bimmers with black rims that can pull it off.

In my opinion no to black wheels.I think black makes design of the wheels disappear and it looks like one big tyre.

I would go aluminum if i had to choose of those two.

How about Vertini magic with Black/machined face finish?

I like black wheels, especially on a light color car, but I tend to prefer a glossy black finish. The matte black looks good up close, but from far away it tends to look like it's covered in brake dust. I would also echo the previous poster's comment about the design of the wheel being lost with a black wheel. I think you get some of that detail back with a glossy finish, though. My $0.02.

Honeslty I think black is jsut played out, yes it looks good on alot of cars but only in gloss back.
Heck I have black/polished wheels on my bimmer and i hate them. I love the wheel design but hate the paint.

no to black wheels.

if you dont want "regular ol' silver", try hyper black or diamond black or whatever name each company uses for that type of finish.

thanks for the replies. It is really a tough decision to make being that this is the first major $$ upgrade for me. I was almost at the point of flipping a coin and letting the quarter decide for me. I'm sure any finish wheels would look good on these cars I just didn't want to get one that I would get tired of a few months down the road. thanks and happy modding.

Black wheels look ghetto most of the time. If your car is heavily modded or if you are going for a blacked out look, it can work, but white is a classy color so stick to a wheel color that will compliment your car.

Gunmetal or silver
I honestly don't like black rims if they don't have a chrome or mirror finish lip

http://tapatalk.com/mu/aefd6326-239c-af9d.jpg here is the rim I was thinking of going with. I have a 2007 e90 335 and wanted to go with this style in 19" and 35%tint as well as black kidney grills but am debating whether it is too much and if I should just go with a silver finish...Thoughts?

Thanks

Actually I don't like those rims in black. Like Monacoblue said the wheel design looks lost in all that black. I decided to go with a silver finish on the rims that I am getting. good luck.

Silver is a classic color and definitely gives the car a more of a classy look!
