Getting Cobb next week

I ordered cobb accessport, it should be here next week. I was wondering if i should perform any maintenance on my car before flashing it (stage 1 for now, only have BMC drop in filter). I was reading about spark plugs, i have 37k miles, are they due now?

Thanks

At 37K its a good idea to change the plugs but other than that you'll just have to wait and see how your car likes it.

I wouldn't do anything if its outside your normal maintenance.

Download the Access port software for your computer
then update your maps to the Beta maps
then install those.

Enjoy it

If the spark plugs have never been changed, I would recommend changing them out for a fresh set. Check out our AskCOBB Episode 2 about the BMW ignition system and and easy step by step on how to change the plugs.

I understand you not wanting to change your plugs before the scheduled service, just be aware that you may throw some misfires on your current plugs. It isn't a big deal, just something to be aware of.

It's important to note scheduled maintenance is for stock vehicles. With upgraded boost its important to keep your hardware up to date. Other maintenance items may need to be changed more often. It's highly recommended that all vehicles over 20-25K replace spark plugs. Once you up the boost your weakest links will appear.

You will enjoy it.

My car doesn't seem to like the beta maps though. Drives GREAT on the 3.01 maps but the 4.00 beta caused my car to stall with just about every warning light on the dash. Stalled on me 4 times on the way to work and 6 times on the way home, would happen almost at 5 minutes exactly.

My advice, try the 3.01 its still pretty sweet.

OP COBB already gave you the step by step video on how to change the plugs. It's very easy to do and will save you $$$$ to do it yourself.
