resale value of style 161 & new OEM runflats
I just picked up a 2008 CPO 328i w/sport & premium and it has a brand new set of Bridgestone Potenza Re050A II RFT tires. (225/45-17 front & 255/40-17 rear)
I'm thinking of selling the wheels and tires while the tires are still new (under 250 miles). Wheels are excellent, one looks brand new. Anyone want to give me a guess as to what the set of tires is worth vs what complete package (wheels & tires) is worth? Thinking I might be able to get more selling them one at a time for spares? Probably not a big demand for a full set of style 161's..... In this month's issue of Roundel a writer claimed he was able to sell his style 162's with brand new RFT tires, and cover the cost of a set of new 19" rims and Continental Extreme Contacts....Seems like a stretch, but all depends on what kind of rims, I suppose, and I imagine the 162's are easier to sell than the 161's. |

I would say there's a larger demamd for a full set than buying the wheels separately

Brand new 17" runflats: $500
Good used 161s: $300 TPMS: $100 Total Package: $900ish And yes, demand for 162s is still strong as it was a very distinct and clean look in 18" but there is not much love for the 161s. |
