Help! Starter dead?
While I wait for a flat bed, can anyone diagnose this starting problem?
2006 E90 330i 55k miles I think it's a dead starter? Any help is appreciated.

I'd agree. Sounds like a starter. Have it check out for sure though. A stater is a little pricy.

Of course, it's being towed shortly to the dealer. $79 diag fee not too bad. I am dreading the bill quote though....

Oh you have a '06. Starters are VERY problematic. Did yours grind after the engine started. (before this instance of course) Also, if it's manual, try and bump start it.

Turned out to be the starter, Had a "discount" card with a dealership ended up being $800 for the entire install and an oil change. I didn't feel like paying to tow it anywhere else (dealer was free tow)
Mine used to have trouble starting, turn overs took 5-6 times... sucks this happened so early
