BMW M3 Pricing Leaked?

2007/2008 BMW M3 (E92) pricing leaked?

2007-m3.jpg

Multiple BMW chat forums and Leftlane readers are reporting that BMW North America has given dealers preliminary pricing details for the 2007 BMW M3 coupe. The car is expected to make its official debut before the end of the year — possibly at the Paris Motor Show in September. If the data is to be believed, it would position the M3 about $10,000 above the new 335i coupe. Base U.S. price is listed at $53,975 with a carbon fiber roof, 18" wheels, and adaptive headlights as standard equipment. Purchasers will be able to chose between a SMG III and six-speed manual transmissions, with neither costing more than the other. While LLN can not independently verify this information, one possible reason for its early release to dealers could be in order to enable pre-orders for what is sure to be a hot-seller. [see also: recent spy shot gallery]. See the full pricing sheet after the jump…

Applying the South African price ratio for the M3 Coupe compared to the M6 Coupe to US prices yields $56,030 (including delivery). Doing the same using the Z4 M Coupe yields $59,575. That's pretty much the ball park I'vm expecting for the US. I'm guessing $55 - 57k.

I think I have given up on ratios. It seems to work for SA pricing and gives the new M3 pricing as what we expect. However with UK or Germany pricing it seems to give some unreasonable high $60k+ figures. I think I am dropping my hope that these ratios are really meaningful. You can't throw away data points and keep others just because you like some answers or some fit other models.

My info on Military Pricing

The Military Pricing Contract states $49,995 given their History I would bet this is right, the sunroof option is likely n/c

Mine should be built as it looks in March 08

No US production slots are scheduled until January 08
and Those are for Magazine test cars followed by dealer
launch cars, normally the same configuration.

I wonder what the ZPP will have

Manual here with a HUD and ZPP

Special order Paint if I can pull it off

No because SMG III is not going to be offered. It's M DCT instead.

For Pete's sake, this price list is complete nonsense everybody!!

Well that's a good question. Obviously it's standard on the M5/M6, with the manual a no cost option in the U.S.

I hope it is no-cost on the M3, but I doubt it.

Just like SMG on the E46 M3, M-DCT will probably be optional, in order to keep the base price low. Plus they have to recoup their development costs for this new trans.

But it's already been revealed that the base price isn't low in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. So how can they KEEP it low?
