I've come across a software update.
I'm not sure if others are aware of this update but I came across it while fiddling with the iDrive stuck in traffic. Accessed via Settings/Software Update.
This one shows the current software This one shows the new software I can't imagine it will add 10bhp but I'll be interested to see if there is any difference. |

I thought it was something to do with iphone. Doesn't it tell you if you press the idrive controller while highlighted?

I suspect this is an option for cars with the most recent i-drive. As far as I'm aware it isn't an option on my car that although it has HDD Pro i-drive, has the 2009 version - unless others can tell me different?
The dealer says the only way to update the software for my i-phone to be compatible is for them to have the car (at a cost). Last edited by Falmouthboy; 03-13-2012 at 09:55 AM.. |

Having a look here it appears there's no real difference between the two TX updates for my 3GS but one or two for eg the 4S. God knows what the MX update refers to. |

You can download it frOm the owners section on BMW.com and update via USB. I did it a week or two ago but haven't noticed any difference?

lol! I know, I had to wait until this morning! I could hardly sleep.
Anyway, makes bugger all difference with my 3GS. Car feels a bit nippier though... |

this makes such more sense than taking the car into the dealer. Wonder if you can get car software updates as well?
