Personal Settings - GETTING FRUSTRATED!!
I guess I should preface this that my other two BMW's are from the Reagan Administration. Hence, they are quite simple compared to my new e91. I am having problems with the personal settings on the car, and the manual has only confused me more. This is where I am at:
- The settings for both keys seem to work fine for each individual driver; - I programmed separate personal settings in as well on the power seat as well. I thought this would be helpful iof my wife had my key, or vice-versa. - If I use my wife's key, but try and use my personal settings from the seat button, the passenger mirror will not rise up after the car has been put into reverse (it stays in the curb position). Is there a conflict between the settings on the seat and the settings that are in the key? Every time I think I understand what is happending, I get more confused. Any clarification would be appreciated! Thanks, Dale

That's nothing to do with the personal settings. For the side mirrors, if the switch which controls which mirror you are adjusting is set to the drivers side mirror then the passenger mirror will tilt down when in reverse, if it is set to the passenger mirror then the passenger mirror will not dip when in reverse.

The key fob will override the seat memory settings, depding upon the order in which they are applied.
If you first push MEM 1 and get in the car and then put the fob in, the seat will then move to the setting last used for that key. If you get in and insert the fob, let the seat adjust to the last setting, then push the MEM 1 button, the seat will move to the position set in the seat memory.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't think the mirror had anything to do with the key, but that seems to be when I have the problem. The switch is always to the left.
Thanks
