Remap - Shall I get 'Evolved'?

Looking at rempas for my 320d and it seems Evolve is everyone's preferred choice.

£600ish seems A LOT more expensive than many other tuners. I'm slightly unsure what extra exactly I am paying for? Is it the ability to 'switch', because I don't need that............I'd have it on all the time! Or are they just the best in the business?

Any pearls of wisdom??

Lots of the cheaper places simply buy in their maps from third parties and chuck them on your car.

With Evolve you are paying for the ability to switch (warranty?) yes. But you aer also paying for the years of experience and development put in by the Guys at Evolve to have produced their own in-house product which is tried, tested and loved by many.

That and the customer service is second to none.

Guess what I'm going to reccomend?

After some more in depth research, yes it does seem that Evolve is the way to go. I'm a firm believer in "if you're going to do it, do it right". Even if it does cost!

I've been on to them this morning to see if they are doing any deals at the moment

You don't have to have the Evolve Switch, which would save about £150 i think.

The switch can be used to read and clear error codes too!

I have a bit of a quandry now. I'm heading to Mstyle on monday for some new rims and suspension, and they are offering me the remap then and there too without having to go to Evolve in Luton. The map is by Mosselman.

Any of you guys have any knowledge on this map? It would make life a lot easier for me to get it done at M-Style, but i'm kind of excited about being 'evolved' now!?

Sooooo I have been Evolved. Superb.

Has transformed the car, especially in 3rd and 4th, really does pull hard. I have no other BMW map to compare it too, but I am a very happy customer.

Great product and great service from Imran at Evolve.

Oh yeah It can. Didn't realise you could clear them as well? I think when I read codes, there were none present so never have it more thought.

I would not reccomend AMD. Had a bad experience with them recently. i would go to Prestige Vechicle Repairs (on the same road as AMD) for DPF delete and then get Evolved.

Very good for VAG by all accounts but AMD will just slap on a bought in map and from experience they don't understand BMWs.

Short story is they told me there was no error codes and the car was fine when the engine light was on and the problem that they had "fixed" was still there. 15 mins later I used the Evolve software and found quite a few codes including the code for the problem that they "fixed". Reset codes and all was fine again. It did not give me any confidence that they hadn't reset the codes and seemingly did not have the equipment or capability to read them.

They also don't really tune them they just reflash with a third party map. I had mine booked in there before the bad experience untill I found that out and went to Evolve.
