Wanted components + 2 x sws 8 subs
Hi,
I am a complete newbie to the E90 Audio upgrade world, so would greatfully accept any recommendations and help I've started off by purchasing an Audison LRX 6.9 from ebay. I now need to get some speakers, I am after the following Focal 100KRS or Morel Hybrid Ovations II Focal Performance PC100 4" coaxial car speakers for the rears 2xSWS 8 subs I am not sure if I need a 4ohm version or 2 ? I assume the speakers are all 4Ohm, should the subs be 4ohm too, if so would my audision be able to drive all of them ? cannot afford to get the bit one too unfortunately Would I need a technics harness for this setup, if so I'd need one of those too Thanks a lot for taking time to look Appreciate it Rudz |

I have done an upgrade following the above and it worked out a treat! All the info you need from start to finish is in the above link- takE your time to read through and work out what you need. Bit one or jbl ms8 it's your choice but I went bit one and never looked back. Ms8 is an amazing bit of kit my decision was influenced by price and I picked up the bit one .. Let's just say at a RIDICULOUSLY low / good price (2nd hand of course). Good luck. |

could i use one of these ?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALPINE-PXE...item337297222e i know the ms8 or the h800 or the bit one offer flexibility and control, but that's way more than what I need I feel, I want to keep it simple, I dont need to be tweaking everyday, I just want something that could be set, leave it, turn the volume up on my factory steering wheel controls or using the knob on the factory deck and enjoy the music and the drive. You guys know of any other cheapish processors ? Thanks a lot guys |

Alpine's always good down well, I'm not a pro on these things but just call up any car audio store (you may have to call a few given some may not give adequate / any info on brands not distributed by them) and explain your aim and what would be best.
Not the best help but that's what I did and luckily at the same time some forum member was selling his bit one so thank you to him. |

The link above is the best post on how to do this.
Be prepared to spend a lot of money. What HiFi system do have? Pre LCI you might get lucky and be able to have the car recoded to remove the EQ. LCI you will not. In which case you will need an EQ equaliser. If you want to set and leave then the MS8 is your best bet. When I got to near £3k cost all in I gave up. I was also never really confident of what various installers were telling me. I was thinking of getting one of these £600 http://mosconi-america.com/one1204dsp.html It has DSP (so no need for a signal processor) but couldn't find anyone in the UK who supplied or knew if it would do what I wanted - including the UK importer. Get the spacers and Technic harness. Also spare woofer cases in case you want to revert to OEM - I picked up two from a scrapyard for £50 I think. - I all these but want to keep for the moment in case the training of my hears to accept the hard drive music does not work. hiya mate,
Thanks for your response, I've bought the following items from my list - Audison LRX 6.9 Amp - JBL MS-8 DSP My car is an 06 320D with base audio, I did'nt want to bother with the recoding, I called up BMW Chandlers in Brighton to enquire about it, they did'nt have a clue, I thought MS 8 best suits my needs and got one off talk audio for a good price I still need a pair of - SWS 8's and - Morel Hybrid 4's (I understand these are a lot better than the focal k2's? is this the general opinion) - I also need Technic's Harness, it's a bit expensive to get it from the US, wondering if anyone's got one on sale or if there are cheaper alternatives ? Wondering if Audison Voce 6.5 Mid bass speakers fit the space below the front seats ? If so, I guess they would sound much better than the earthquakes ? Thanks for looking |

The MS8 will sort the EQ out for you so suspect you will get away with coding.
Jeherts fit under the seats. - expensive though 130 dollars including shipping for the harness -It was the import tax and charges that peed me off. |

jenherts I heard arent that good ? they are more midbass than subs ? you can get the complete set off ebay for about £450 delivered from Germany, 130 dollars is that with the import tax or without ? do you have to pay tax on wires too ? crap

General consensus is that jehnerts are the best drivers for MID bass. If u are not planning on adding a SUB then u should get sws8. But your system will sound better having drivers for mid bass (jehnerts) and a sub fir the really low frequencies.
Also have a look at morel admw aw9. they are 9" but can fit with a little customisation. |
