MAF sensor

Guys can anyone tell me where the air flow meter is situated on my 318d, im thinking that this may be causing my limp mode issue. Im going to try disconnecting it to see if the car runs any better.

Pictures would be great, thanks in advance

You can clean it with maf sensor cleaner.
It should improve your mpg, but I am strongly convinced that it is not responsible for your limp mode.
As prior to your turbo failure, it was fine.
Why would it become faulty now.
Not sure about diesel but on petrol I had to take the air filter box out.
It is fixed with torx screw. You can disconnect it though without taking it out if you have small and thin fingers.
All the best.

If its not the MAF then i really dont know what is causing the issue, theres only so many things it can be.

One thing i do know for a fact is that once i sell this car i'll never have another BMW after all this hassle. The engine in my car is the M47TU2D20

Try what you have intended to do.
I am not disappointing you, and go and clean it.
After cleaning maf, run the car without it. You may get your car into limp mode though, so code resetter will be handy here.

If you want little bit more experimentation and if you have digital meter, check the resistance of the maf, and double check with somebody here.
Or with anybody who is near to you and allow you to check the resistance of his maf. It will give you idea, if your maf is normal?
