eBay Wind Deflector Anyone Have This One?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-Z...ayphotohosting

I like the fact that it covers the open area behind the head rest and also that it uses straps rather than screws and 3M tape. Anyone have one of these? What does everyone think about it? Thanks

Have a friend that has one works fine, not as custom looking as the OEM or Roadster solutions, but for $80 bucks it works

Those straps look really bad IMHO. Cheap-looking.

GP20 was pissed at the guy that sells those because he had used someone else's car for a model and was then using pics without permission or some such.

I've never seen this one before, but I can see how this might be a good compromise if someone has extended leather, because the roadster solutions one won't adhere right to the roll bars. But I really do think the roadstersolutions one looks more like an integral part of the car.

I don't know if I trust the lexan strapped directly againist the painted rollbar housing. Any sort of contaminants inbetween the two would create a good bit of abrassion.

On another note as others have said. Those straps make it look really cheap.

My Roadster solutions one adheres just fine. I have extended leather, don't know what that has to do with the wind jammer?

? for lexan users....

For those using the lexan windscreens....
How do you find it with the top up & looking in your rear view?

Is there much refraction distortion from looking through the Lexan AND the back window?

I have the OE snap in screen right now.
It does a great job, except I don't like rear vision though the screen.

I'm considering a custom unit using the OE frame and fitting a Lexan panel to it.

I dont understand how someone can purchase a 40K-50K plus car and feel the need to skimp on something so cheap looking! I would be totally ashamed to be seen in my M with that cheap thing strapped to it! Spend $200 and get the Roadster Solutions windblocker. (Just my opinion and probably that of most others here.)

I agree with Chad.

I've got the roadster solutions windscreen and don't have any issues with the top up, no funny view or bisecting line. That said, i've had it for about 3 months and have hardly driven with the top up.

The Lexan is zero problem looking through the rearview, top up, or down. It does rub a teensy little bit when the top goes up and down, but I can't see that it rubs hard enough to pose any wear and tear problems.

I have the mesh windscreen and though it definitely cuts down on air flow, i would think the acrylic would even more so.

What do you mean you never drive with the top up...its rained here in the last 3 months......also i've heard that the sun bakes the leather seats, so i hardly ever park it with the top down.

I've read other members on bimmerfest saying that the roadster solutions one does reduce wind in the cabin, but it also concentrates that wind to certain places in the cabin that actually make it overall more uncomfortable. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this?

My roadster solutions windblocker seems to concentrate the airflow down along the center console so that it cools my right arm and leg. Fine when its warm, annoying when it's nippy. It seems that when I turn the heater on, I get more heat retention in the passenger compartment though. I'm going to get some weatherstripping and put it along the bottom to see what that is like.

I always park with the top up, but really, it hasn't rained that much during my drive to work and home times. I don't put the top down when the top is wet, but the car cover usually takes care of that. I guess I need to start a diary of when i have to drive top up. Maybe it happens more than I realize. The good thing is, I've never noticed my lexan windblocker.

The windscreen I linked to is actually available in Lexan or Acrylic. And as mentioned above, I liked it because it didn't require drilling/taping, etc. I mean sure it dosn't look as clean cut as the other makes but for people that are Leasing the car (such as myself) it is a much more economic option IMO

I think you'll regret it and end up wanting one of the better ones. Put that money towards a roadster solutions deflector, I say.

why do you need a windscreen anyway? I bought this car to have wind in my hair!

If you have a significant other, they may beg to differ.

True.. but 99% of the time I'm running solo.
I have the OE clip in one, which is easy to re&re;
I run w/o the blocker most of the time.
I put it in if I have an extended run on the freeway though.
