Anyone try Burger Intake on 1M?
Has anyone tried this intake system on their 1M:
http://www.burgertuning.com/dcintake.html Its 95 bucks!!! I read some good reviews from the 135/335 owners and was told this would work on the 1M.

With full bolt ons and the software to match you will get more power with that intake. Without and you will most likely not see any difference. Some people complain of heat soak issues as well.

That seems like the norm that there are really no gains with the intakes unless you do other mods. I plan on doing a other bolt ons and im just trying to get a plan in order.

I have the cp-e version along with the n-55 mids, and the jb4.
I really enjoy the set up. The temperature of the air is the same entering the intercooler no matter what set up you have. Just more of it with the DCI, which ends up being cooled by the intercooler anyways. |

Good value, good performance!
I ran BMS DCI in my 335i for years and loved them. Bought another set and installed them in my 1M a couple of months ago and I still love them. Sound is awesome. I had an IAT monitor (post intercooler) on my 335i and I can vouch for the fact that there is NO difference in IATs with stock airbox vs. DCI's. The turbos heat up the air and the intercooler (I had an ETS) does it's job cooling the compressed air. The BMS intakes sound great, look great, offer excellent unrestricted airflow, and don't cost tons (like the AFE or Dinan intakes). Win, win, win!

First is midpipes. They are very simple to install, make great sound and bump power a bit. Second is intercooler. Slightly more involved than the midpipes but still easy. Not much power difference but will help on HOT summer days down here. Third is downpipes. A real pain to install but straight forward. I'll install the little burger O2 sensor override wire too. This will definitely give a nice power bump and make for exciting new sounds! Last will be intake and software. I am holding off on both of these until everything else is done. These two with the other stuff already installed will add a HUGE bump in power. Before the last two items go in I will be going to 285 or 295 rear tires to help deal with the 'problem' of all this extra power Last edited by robertm; 03-05-2012 at 11:29 AM.. |

Going with bigger footprints will only prevent the tires to "burn" early with "that extra power"! lol Won't had grip though... But awsome plan anyway!
