Preparing for roadtrip from San Jose, CA to Vegas?

Hello guys,

I'm planning a Vegas trip from San Jose, CA which will be about 9-10 hrs of driving & at least a lil over 500 miles each way...

Anything specific I should have the car inspected for before going on this long trip?? I have kept up w/ maintenance, fluid & oil changes, & had 4 new tires installed. The car already has 127,000 miles to date & still runs fine.

I did a roadtrip from Seattle to Vegas this summer and stayed in San Jose to check out the Winchester House. Enjoyed the entire drive down!

When was the last time you had your water pump and thermostat inspected/replaced? Any service done on your suspension recently?

+1 500 miles is nothing. Just check the tires and oil and go.

Honestly, it is a short trip. If 500 miles worries you on your car, it might be time to trade her in for something more reliable. I have the same year car, more miles. I would make the trip and all I would do prior would be to fill the tank and make sure I have music on the iphone for the trip.
I just made the drive from LA to Vegas in my wifes Highlander, it is a beautiful drive! Enjoy it. You can really cruise on the 15.
