Music Preferences

Just out of simple curiosity, what does everyone like to listen to when driving their Z?

For me, when just out for cruising or the drive to work, I like a some classic rock: Styx, Foreigner, Journey, Boston

It is an altogether different story when I want to play, go for the heavy metal: Overkill (who could of guessed?), Judas Priest, Pantera, Slayer

Cheers!

I enjoy some Molly Hatchet, Ratt, Poison or my favorite band of all time: Queen, if I'm feeling frisky.

Crusin' around; just about anything. A little of this and a little of that..

Yay, someone else that likes Molly Hatchet! How about Blackfoot? I have almost all the Ratt stuff, some Poison, but could not really get into Queen

You know why most Canadian bands are 3 members?

a) Couldn't find another musician in the same Province
b) Enjoy the Menage-Trois thing
c) See Enfield, Takedown8, Intrgr8tr

I am probably dated with this list (leftover hippie from the 60's), but my music taste is quite varied and includes late 60's early 70's rock, Folk Rock, some Country Rock, some New Age, etc. :

Grateful Dead
Doors
Santana
anything by Stills, Neil Young, David Crosby, Graham Nash
Traffic, Dave Mason, Steve Winwood
Peter Frampton
Government Mule
Bela Fleck
Eric Clapton, Cream, Blind Faith
Jefferson Airplane
Simon and Garfunkle
Steely Dan
Tori Amos
Bonny Raitt
Indigo Girls
Eagles, Don Henley
Sarah Mclachlan
Pink Floyd
Alan Parsons
etc., etc.

I have well over 1000 CDs that have been burned for iTunes using Apple Lossless format (full CD quality) and constantly churn what goes along with me in my iPod. I like looking around my collection for things I haven't heard in a while on most occasions, so there is nothing in particular that jumps to mind when driving the Zed vs any of my previous rides.

I do like the fact that I have a wider choice now with the Coupe vs the Honda S2000 I had before this - I can hear music that is more subtle in the Zed. The Honda was so noisy you couldn't hear anything but loud hard music out on the road.

Adding Ry Cooder and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I've also got playlists for country, classical (kinda lacking), alt rock, and (sorry) one playlist that is just Rush. Yet another 3 piece canadian band.

Z4 drivers must be typically much older than E9x drivers. I can relate to your music tastes much more than that of drivers of the same car I drive. I would guess Yal's age as 39 years.

all my country is from the last 10 years. I kinda switched genres recently because I couldn't find any guitar oriented rock that I liked. I've got a little current stuff, but not much. I was really just posting my favorite driving music. I'm a fan of the band Miggs as I know the singer. Pseudopod is a fun band, but I think they disappeared.

I got out of the music habit for about the last 15 years. Too busy working and ignoring the fact that my life was passing me by. I'm finally starting to pay attention to life again since I realized all that hard work has gotten me nowhere. I credit the turn around to that dang Z4. It's had an affect on me that none of my motorcycles ever did.

Let's just say that I got driver's license back in the mid 60s when Mustangs were a new model car and Yal was barely walking.
