sat nav rental for USA travelers

hi guys,
just thought id mention this here, just a little side line ive set up renting sat navs out to people travelling to USA from the UK.
I couldnt believe how much US rental companies charge for to add a sat nav to a car rental package, so decided to invest in some units to rent out.
I'd appreciate it if you could like my facebook page and pass the word on to any friends or family you know are planning a trip and will be using a car state side.

I used a rental nav (Garmin) off eBay last summer when I went touring the US for 3 weeks...was a great idea as you say due to the costs of the satnav in retaliate cars. We had 4 cars over the 3 weeks and wise about £70 a time if we'd had it from the real companies.

Infact we had a hertz installed nav in our Dodge Challenger (as it was free on that car we discovered), however it was shocking, no 3D views difficult to use and barely viewable from the drivers seat...thank god we hadn't paid for it lol!

Are you marketing on ebay?

Good look in the venture

You can buy a satnav here for 40-80 bucks on Craigslist.

Never paid for Sat Nav when hiring in the States, when given the price for it I always say "that's ok I'll try somewhere else" this is always responded to with "we can include that for free sir if you would like to rent with us today".

Has worked every time for me.

but nobody wants to fly to the usa then have to start going hunting for a gps unit. Also, they might only visit once and never go back, so whats the point in owning a unit that is useless in the UK?
Also, i can pre programme addresses into the favourites, so they land ,get their car, turn on the unit and their accommodation address is there ready.

They still make you haggle when you pick up the car. I actually on purpose always book the cheapest car and then upgrade 2-3 classes above for only 20 bucks extra.
Haggle! Always haggle!
