BMS WW Meth Logs.. paging madmanhiker
Just running some Map 2 vs Map 3 logs for comparison.
Subject car has 93 oct, catless DP, intake, CP, WW Meth. Couldn't really let loose with lunchtime traffic, so hopefully quality is passable. Map 2 (no meth): Map 3 (meth +50 additive, 19psi cutoff) Max boost in Map 2 was on average about 14.5psi (as high as 15.7), while max boost on Map 3 was on average about 17psi (as high as 17.5). BMS WW Meth kit is working like a champ.. curious to see what this adds up to on a dyno or in the 1/4.

Ok. I knew I wasn't crazy. My graphs prove that MAP 2 (in my case) is stronger...
Subject car has 93 oct, catless DP, intake, CP, WW Meth....same mods and same settings on the JB4... 50/50 boost juice. Map 2 (no meth): CSV: Click to download CSV data Map 3 (meth +50 additive, 19psi cutoff): CSV: Click to download CSV data

You've made an incorrect diagnosis. It's not that map 2 is stronger. It's that both maps show a massive boost leak. You guys should just email logs in for support when you need it. You'd save a lot of time and heartache. The other problem with you guys asking for support on public forums is someone else will read your posts, try to diagnose their own problems, and normally just wind up going down the wrong path. By the time they eventually do bother emailing myself or BMS they are extremely confused, frustrated, and may have done unnecessary damage to their car.

It should have been obvious with that steep boost curve at the end..no way would even BMW allow that. |

madman, there is something not right going on there. Like mentioned possibly a massive boost leak.
You can see it spikes to roughly 15psi on the hit and by the time you are ready to shift you are under 5psi and the next gear is consistently under 10psi. Check ALL connections carefully. |

My ER cp is rock solid, gaskets are tight, I see no areas that would indicate any boost leak. I did see a suspicious thing with my aFe cai. Their brilliant design with that crap ass gasket and poor connection was indeed loose (again). So, it is possible that that could have something to do with my issue. Going back to stick air box tomorrow and Terry has me running some diags.... We'll see.

That said, that would not produce a boost leak as it's on the cold side of the turbo, but it could be throwing off your a/f mixture and who knows what else. I am hesitant to say that's what would be causing this, but it's possible I suppose. /non-expert opinion

The only way to actually know if you are leaking with a 100% certainty is to do a boost leak test pressurized to say 20 PSI. Visuals aren't enough in the turbo world. Re-fit and retighten all clamps and go from there. |

Special thanks to Mike and Terry!!!!!!!!! Yes, I am so much happier!!! Meth = a whole lot of fun - and, it's addictive! lol
For those who may be wondering what my issue was, sadly... it was indeed the aFe CAI and that horrible gasket. No matter what I did to keep it stable, it would always leak, even a little was enough to skew my numbers. As soon as I removed it and went back to the stock airbox, my numbers improved. Also, I siphoned out the windshield washer fluid and methanol mix, and REPLACED it with a 70/30 meth/distilled water. Done. Deal. Here is a video I put up yesterday...17.4 psi not bad... now... if I can only keep it at 16 psi stable after the peak! Switch to 1080 to see hijacked gauges...
