Get the BMS Powerbox. It's almost half the price. $500 is a steep price for 10-15hp

I have the PBX, not the AA tune, but I like it. It's exactly what the car needs because the throttle response is horrible. You can buy a used one for very cheap.....

Best $500 you could spend on that car.

Do not even spend a second thinking about the PBX.

There's TONS of topics on that matter in the N/A modifications section.

i would just save my money up and get the bmw performance exhaust. To me any performance mods for the 328 is kinda useless and not trying to sound like a typical 335 owner lol.

good thing we have bmw owners like you to give us a good name (/sarcasm)

@ OP I'm thinking about the tune too. Andrew says the stage 2 tune works with or without the 3-stage manifold, but I'm curious if the gains are as significant as they are on those with the manifold.

+1 ... Not sure how many people still have hpfp problems but they are covered under extended warranty until 100k miles. Hey I can't say I would be mad if my hpfp went tomorrow since most of us get 2011 loaners to drive around while our cars are in the shop!

But in all seriousness if either of those tunes do help out the throttle response then it would be worth the investment. Just don't think you'll be getting a ton of power out of it. You might not even notice the hp/tq.

AA makes great products as I have the ECU flash + the signature exhaust on my 335 and the car is an absolute beast - resulting HP/TQ gain was significant. But, I did pay a premium for both although "discounted." However, just as others have stated I'm not sure I would make the $500 investment for such little power gains. If you have any questions or maybe another solution reach out to Viral at AA - great guy and very knowledgeable. Good luck.

From what I've read all the PBX is just a glorified increased throttle response. The AA tune is an actual tune for your n52.

I just got Stage 2 of the AA tune and am in love. Look for my review in the N/A section in Active's official post page 6.

Hey Patricksizo,

We are AA dealers and have been installing their tunes for years. They are rock solid and work as advertised every time. Tech support is great too. We will be doing a few 330/325/328 tunes very soon....I'd love to have you visit the shop!

With this software, the performance exhaust and 3 stage manifold, I gained 47whp. So dont tell me I couldnt feel that. lol I knew there was a lot going on there even before putting it on the dyno.

And you get a totally different car. Very pleasant to drive.

I will get stage 2 soon; that mean I will redyno and i'm pretty sure numbers will be higher by 8-10 ponies.

This is because the PBX is a plug-and-play piggyback. The AA tune is an ECU flash.

From what I've read, the AA tune is very much worth it, especially over the PBX. Many claim it makes the car feel/drive like how it should've come from the factory. The AA tune is next on my to-do list of mods.

A few of us have recently got the AA tune done here in Toronto.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=481936&page=2

Jon from Bimmersport lists some of the benefits on that page as well as concerns with warranty.

I can certainly feel the difference after the flash. Down shifting is a lot smoother and I notice a broader power band at 2nd and 3rd gear. My fuel efficiency has also increased when driving normally. My only performance mod is the BMW Performance Exhaust

Definitely worth it for the price!
