I remember driving one of these AUC in 1998 (just before the e46 was due). My god did i love it....fast and quite an animal . from memory it was up at £27k with 19,000 miles.

Glws, and more pictures would be good

No. They only had LSD's on the 95/96 MY cars - even then some of the 96's didn't. Easiest way to tell is to look at the centre console, if there is a Traction Control button - it doesn't have an LSD.

This one (being a 1998 but more importantly a much later 6 speed) definitely won't have had a diff as standard.

One of these was my first BM. Loved it. late 98/99's are the one to go for - no Nikasil problems, so it's a great block mated with a much better gearbox.

Only thing I don't like about this one is that it doesn't have the original alloys (a must for me) but otherwise looks great. GLWS.

Yeh alloys are a problem as they are hard to come by in good condition. I picked these bbs rims up from my local dealer they only had three so they was a steal , I found the other on eBay. Better than the M3 reps it had on when I bought it.
My boss had a new 328 in 98 about 30 grand I think it was awesome and so is this one brings back good memories. Any way the Mrs hates it so see if I sell it , if not I may just keep it in storage for what it's worth.
I may deal on a later BM if someone wants a cheap motor

Lovely car, I've got a 1999 e36 328i track car and these drive really well. Someone has done a 6 speed conversion on it which will mean that it will sit at lower revs on the motorway.

Not having an LSD isn't a biggy, there are so many spares available and an m3 3.0 LSD will fit with just a diff flange swap

PS I have a set of original 328i sport BBS wheels if anyone is interested in this car.

Interesting, mine has the traction control button so no LSD but a five speed box

I've a feeling actually that as Idnan inferred, the addition of a 6 speed box MIGHT not have been by BMW. I don't recall them changing, so I just assumed they had in very late production when I made my last post!

Interesting all the same!
