With some BMW M Performance models announced, should we be expecting F30 M340i and M340xd models in the future and is this why the power of F30 335i has not increased over the E90?

i think so, but not for a year or so. my guess is when the coupe is released it will have a more powerful engine, then the sedan will follow. im pretty sure thats how it was for the e90. plus you can see the obvious signs that the 328i and 335i are too close in performance and mpg they need a more powerful non-m model.

They may go down the 35is route and we are yet to see the standard N57's i.e. 30d, 35d. Maybe after this year though!
