255/35/18 Square

Im looking to put the VB3s that are 18x8.5 et 40 on my E90 LCI.

Can 255s fit with this offset? I know i can run 235s but im looking to go 20mm wider in the tires.

Has anyone ran this set up? I know the staggered setup from BMW has 255s in the rear on an 8.5. Im curious if the front will clear. I have the sports package if that means anything for the xdrive.

Thanks!

Im afraid the front will rub the inside and if i use spacers it will rub the fender or poke too much. Just curious if others have ran this setup without issues and what their front et was.

You need at least a 10 to 12 mm spacer to fit 255/35/18 on 8.5 ET40.

I'm on 255/35/18 fronts with an e92, 18"x9" wheel with +32mm offset and -1.1 degrees of camber. Without much camber, it'll depend on your tire choice. Some tires just run really wide.

I run 255 35 18 on an 18x8.5 35 offset with 10mm spacer. It rubs a bit from time to time with -1.8* of camber. Doesn't rub with -2 or more.

I'm running the OEM 193M rear wheels in the front of my E92. So the wheel spec is basically 18x8.5 +37mm offset, no spacer, stock sport suspension, 255/35 Yoko AD08 (wider than most other 255/35 tires), no rubbing whatsoever.

I ran with the same setup for a while and had no problems.

Now I'm slightly lowered on AST 5200's, running a 9" wide wheel at 32mm offset, and 255/35/18 Hankook Rs3's which tend to run super wide.

-1.1 camber still and absolutely no problems with rubbing.

^^^ Nice!!! How much room do you have inside (from tire to strut)? I've always wonder if we can get away with 9.5" wide, 275 tires, and at least -2.5° camber.

I have a pre-LCI and run 255/35 up front with no problems at all.
18x8.5 et33 net. I'm lowered quite a bit on c/o's so we just shaved the adjusting nut and are running stock alignment. I'm running Michelin PSS.

Any e90 xi owners on this thread want to chime in?

I am waiting for the new Apex 18's to be announced next week and I am eagerly looking to run square.

but I need to see if a 9.5 et 35 wrapped in a 255/35 or 40 will work on a stock fit.
