Check the tire/wheel section. You'll find lots of good info there, check it out.

I just went with 225/40-18 snows all around. I have seen xi owners get all seasons right from the BMW dealership. But with the ZSP, I kinda don't like the idea of A/S 255/35's in the rear, since skinny is better.

That's what I'm running right now. Gets me through just about anything.

This is what I have on my 335is. Its the largest tire I'd go with. The other choice would be 17", but on my car the width of the 17" choices was the same as the 18" choice, 225 and I didn't really need more sidewall around here so I just went with 18" squared. My summers are 19" staggered for reference.

Use 225/45R17 all around or 225/40R18 all around. See the winter sticky for more details.

prefer 225/45/17 for winter to get more traction on ice and snow, also they are more economical

+1. I picked up a used set of 157's w/ TPMS and mounted 225/45/17 snows for less than the price of 18" snow tires alone. If you use them for more than 2 seasons, the wheels pay for themselves since you avoid the extra mount/dismounting fees.
