What muffler to get?
Hey folks... I have a 2006 E90 330XI and I would like to get some sound out of my exhaust but don\'t want it to sound like some jap piece of crap. I LOVE how the Infiniti G35 coupe sounds, any suggestions on a reasonably priced muffler that will give me what I\'m after?

Always have to have one asshole get involved in these posts. If you weren't such an idiot you would have gotten the point. I know exactly where Infiniti is made seeing as it's just a Nissan, I was referring to the sound of a shitty ricer with a cherry bomb etc... Now if you actually have any suggestions to help me out, than by all means write back, otherwise go take your negativity elsewhere

i have magnaflow mufflers installed and it makes the sound of the exhaust slightly deeper. It is not a big difference in sound but subtle enough.

BMW Performance Exhaust. I'm doing that in the summertime.

Another vote for BMW Performance Exhaust. I miss my G37 exhaust note (far from a Jap piece of crap, for the record). Just about to order mine from Tischer as I type this!

You gonna do the install yourself? That's what I was planning on doing, after all, how hard could it be (famous last words).

your thread wouldve not been such a fail if u just didnt have to say "jap piece of crap". if thats how you canadians refer to japanese people/products, then so be it. but this is a US forum so follow the proper etiquette.

Nahh, I'm just gonna have my dealer do the install. I'd rather have the peace of mind that the work has a guarantee behind it, and I don't have the tools to cut the pipes. I've got a great SA so I think he'll take care of me. As for the price of the exhaust, call your dealer and see what their price is vs. Tischer. I did today just out of curiosity, and my jaw dropped....$1299 vs $1855 "with a small discount" I'll definitely be ordering from Tischer.

Wow some people here are sensitive. He never said anything about Japanese people, just their cars. Same way everyone here talks crap about riced out Hondas. He just said it a different way. Chill out everyone.
Anyway I had a Magnaflow 14815 on my last car that I really enjoyed. Check out some YouTube videos. |

I have a magnaflow muffler on mine (and more). I don’t know why it sounds so raspy in the video, it is not really raspy at all. I checked my other video’s I took that day... but nonetheless...
I get asked if it’s stock, people always compliment me on it though. I always get thumbs up! It is not loud by any means though, just deep.

I see validity in both your posts but OP, you should've clarified instead of generalizing. I've owned a G35 coupe a while back and I loved the sound and to this day I still consider it one of the nicest stock exhaust note while keeping it moderately priced*. There's plenty of exhaust systems that you can get for your car. Myself, I'm thinking about getting an eisenmann exhaust or BMW performance but that's based off of my own personal preference.

Edit: Maybe you should consider a lack of a muffler (muffler delete). It'll give you a nice growl under acceleration and most shops can do it for under $100.

Thanks for all the replies folks, and I appreciate those of you who realize what I thought I was obviously trying to say in my original post about my comment regarding japanese cars than immediately following up with a compliment to ether infiniti, I was simply referring to riced up Hondas etc which I think we can all agree we want no part of with our Bmws. I will definitely be looking at the different options given anyone want to elaborate on what a muffler delete actually consists of?
