Intercooler for N/A?

Hi, so I've been thinking of making a few upgrades to my car an AA off road tune, exhaust (undecided), and oil cooler (undecided), intake (undecided), headers (undecided) and an intercooler (undecided).

This will all be done in stages, I was thinking, intercooler, oil cooler, intake, exhaust, headers, and then a tune.

I want the intercooler because in the summer it gets to about 110, so I figured it would be nice for my engine to run cool, but I was wondering if this would even yield any performance gains, in theory it should, but I'm not even sure if it will fit right, this is my first na car, I'm used to turbocharged saabs haha

An intercooler is installed between a turbocharger and the intake to cool the air compressed by the turbocharger. Not applicable to a N/A.

You want an upgraded radiator, not an intercooler.

This...but if you are not HEAVILY tracking the car you are simply pissing away money. That being said I could use some cash piss this way to get worthwhile mods for my car.

This is my opinion.

An intercooler on a N/A motor isnt going to do anything positive for you. I think you would actually lose power due to the extra piping and effort that the motor has to pull air through. You will never be able to get close to ambient temps without speeding up the air going in and through the cooler. Thus you would benefit more by buying a simple cold air intake.

running a pipe from your a/c to your intake will lower temp by 50 degrees and with some boosting effect

use 110 degree outside air to cool 110 degree intake air = 110 degree air into the engine.

Yea I think a better coolant would be a better bang for your buck.

Does this really work? I'm curious? My reasoning behind all this is because I want mods that add life span to my car, not just performance. I really don't wanna get trolled, but I do wanna mod the car a little, I was just researching options :P I can't think of anything else to increase the performance a bit. I know 335i's are better, but what I want to do is keep this car for like 4 or five years, and then be in position to buy a brand new car, I don't want to buy a 2008 335i right now I'd prefer to just wait a while and get a new car.

that was a joke lol. running an AC compressor would use way more power than the cooled air would provide

I guess I'm just a little upset at the lack of modifications available for our cars
I know our cars aren't meant to be the tuning type, compared to evo's or sti's, but it would be awesome if I could get a respectable 0-60 in 4.9, not sure if this is even possible excluding a super charger of course

I know it won't gain as much as an n54 would. but water meth would be a better deal. then get a bigger radiator, get different/better coolant. check the web out for Evans cooling.

oh and if you were to do an intercooler the only way it would even semi help is air to water interlocking with ice water.

speaking of the whole AC condenser thing a person actually did this on an EVO with a water intercooler. he somehow had it setup to blow cold air into the intercooler with a switch in the cab. of course he was trying to twin charge the thing with a 1500 cc roots supercharger.
