Headlight went out.. time for lighting upgrade need advice

One of my factory HID headlights went out the other day on my car, and after seeing that a replacement was going to be $200 from the stealership, I figure it's a good time to do a full HID/LED replacement on the front. I've done a lot of research (and used the search button) but I'm still a little confused on everything I need (I'm used to the simple HID swap on trucks) ....one thing I know for sure is I would like to go with 5k for all the lighting if at all possible (would settle for 6k though)

1. Angel eyes: Ok I see the sticky thread for these, there's a lot of choices, but is there any predominant brand which is preferred? Also are these sold as pairs? Meaning I would need two sets (for headlights and DRLs)

2. The actual headlights. Can an aftermarket bulb be swapped into the factory HIDs? Or do I need a full replacement kit with ballast and everything? Also if I do need a full replacement is there any additional wiring necessary since the cars headlights comes with xenon lighting already?

3. The Inner halogen running lights and turn signals. I really just need the bulb numbers. Also is a relay necessary for LEDs to prevent them blinking really fast?

4. Fog lights. Again, just need the bulb number. These I would like to do HID as well.

Sorry for all the questions, just figured I'd get all the lighting in one pass. Thanks

I mean, I think you're overcomplicating things. If you need a new bulb, get it from HighPerformanceBulbs.com, get either OEM-certified D1S bulbs (Phillips or OSRAM). I'd do it in a pair. It's approximately $160 for a pair, which is a fair price.

Angel eyes: again, you can go the HPB route http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/bmwaneywh6wa.html and you will need one pair (two bulbs) for all four rings. The DRL's are the high beam bulbs I believe, but it's not another angel eye bulb for sure. Alternatively, you can pay up a little more for the MTEC V3's or the LUX 5.1's. The LUX 5.1 are supposed to be the brightest PnP solution, but if you don't want to spend that much money, then the HPB product is the way to go.

If you want LED turn signals, then you will need to code your car or wire in a resistor. not sure on the bulb #.

Thanks for the info i'll check out that website.. I'm not concerned about extreme brightness (don't want cop trouble) I primarily want quality so im not changing more bulbs every 6 months

Ended up ordering last night. Hopefully I ordered all the right stuff. Ordered:

-H11 HID fog light kit 6k with the ballast that fixes the codes thrown off
-A pair of 6k LED angel eye bulbs
-A pair of Nokya D1S 6k HID bulbs to swap into the factory headlights
-Luminics H7 5150k bulbs for the inner lights
-18 LED bulbs for the turn signals

Also a friend of mine is going to remove the reflectors in the lights when everything gets swapped.

I always get confused but I dont know if the 18 led turn signals fit your model. They are only for E90 LCI if I recall correctly.

Double check with them.
