Another lifter tick
I have read the stickies, but I am not sure that my lifter tick falls into the "normal problem".
It started last night, but has happened everytime I drive the car since.. whether hot or cold. It is RPM dependent, and definitely coming form the valve cover area. it doesn't get really loud at higher RPM, but it's there (lets say constant decibel, but the louder engine noises dround it out). Didnt see any DIY head swaps, or other checking for this problem. 45K miles |

IMO, just quit worrying about it and drive the car. It really isn't that loud, I hear many cars that sound way worse at idle, and people who had parts replaced often get the same sound again.

I would encourage the OP to get the first fix ASAP, so if/when it comes back you can get the head replacement while under CPO. I took video and attempted to get the lifter replacement based on that, but my SA would not do anything without duplicating the sound. I'm sure the week after my CPO runs out - not for several years - it will tick 24/7
