I just saw that myself, I emailed their sales contact to see if there's any news about the release of this product.

Was quoted 1795 plus instal/shipping ecu.
What's up with the difference of 265 hp listed by renntech and 300 hp by BMW. Is that the whole measuring at the wheels difference? |

Right; I guess my question is why do they have a variance? Is it just as simple as BMW would rather say 300? Does the 300 mean just the engine as a stand alone? Seems like a big loss of horse power no?

If you go by the by the wheels numbers and factor in 20% driveline loss the at the crank # (what is reported by BMW) is closer to 307.
At $1795 plus shopping ecu back forth why would anyone choose this over Dinan? |

I am in Germany so neither are accessible by me, however, my point of view is I would rather spend more for a company with a solid reputation that backs up its product. I dont know what renntech, are they Mercedes focused? Do they offer a warranty?
I take the price of my F10 seriously, I would not but a ECU modification unless the company had a background in BMW modifications and offered a complete stand alone warranty.

Renntech Tune
I just called Renntech today an found info on ecu flash on my 2011 535i. As per the engineer here are the following gains on a stock car.
Gains: 100HP more at crank 64HP to the wheels 56 pounds of TQ Price is $1695 and 10% off if done by Jan15th... |

Pricing has gone down, gains are now advertised as 70hp to the wheels... I'm thinking about doing this.
But I am looking at this versus Burger (more hp with Renntech, ECU, undetectable by BMW when you take it into service, lifetime reflash, 24mo warranty, etc.)... Anyone take the plunge, or am I going to be the first?!?! :-) |

Argh. I'm now leaning more toward Burger. Cheaper, 40hp vs. 70hp, easy to remove, don't have to worry about ecu reflashes if there are ecu updates at dealer. And, like it or not, Burger has a track record with tunes for BMWs versus Renntech...
