Out of warranty repairs/maintenance
For those of you who are out of warranty, when you take your car in to an indy or dealer, do you bring your own parts for them to use? (spark plugs, fluids, brakes, etc.)
Do you ever have problems with them wanting to use their own?

They mostly always give you a hard time. I mean whats your problem for not letting them provide cheap parts for double the price?

Yeah. I indy wants to charge $25 for a $9.50 spark plug. I can save almost $100 by getting them myself. I guess that's a benefit of DIYing.

Honestly they shouldn't give you a hard time for bringing in your own parts. The only thing you should expect is that they may not warranty the part out. So while the parts store may warranty it out, you will have to pay for the removal and installation of the part again should it fail.
