If you are considering Akrapovic DP's.......

You may want to make up your mind fast. Massive price increase on the way Jan 1.

I have been told several different amounts ranging from a new price of $1300 to $1600 per pair from the current $799.
Wherever the price ends up - looks like a big increase on the way!

I am with you on that. Crazy to spend that much on an exhaust system when there are similar/better systems out there for far less money.

When you pay more than 10% of the price of the car on exhaust... Something is wrong...

Although I tend to agree, I havent heard another system that comes close to the aggressive sound of the Akra.

The problem is you would rarely have the 'flapper' open to experience the aggressive sound. Way to loud for daily driving.

If it was 50% of the price I would consider it. But for current price? Not worth it...

First let me say, I have the Akra Evolution WITHOUT both the remote and down pipe. On that basis I feel I can offer an opinion on the system as opposed to just hypotheticals.

Similar / better, how do you measure that?
And yes there are steel or stainless steel systems that are way cheaper. I wanted titanium and I wanted the best quality pipe work with zero compromises on bends and first class welds The resultant craftsmanship the likes, I believ,e is without peer.

Absolutley agree. But disagree for some markets, Australia and Asia for example where the 1M demands a upwards of US$110,000 premium (bullsh1t and sucks balls by the way)

No flapper here, you just need to be carefully with throttle application, good luck as its addictive. Oh, it is a DD, it is my wife's car hahaha

EXACTLY! C'mon over for the weekend, you can even have a drive with both the exhaust and the ESS tune.

By the way, I have no affiliation with Akra, I am just a car nut who is passionate about cars so.......

So do you have the valve permanently open ie bypassing the muffler?

Garage List
799$ seemed to be to cheap for the quality of the DP's compared to how much Akra charges for the exhaust. No surprise here of a price hike.

When selling the car you will basically get nothing for the Akra if you don't sell it separately. The only pro could be that you get more interested buyers. But I agree that you buy it to use when you own it there is also an future economical aspect of it. Its funny the more money you have the more you think on how you spend them... Strange?

The strange thing is that Im happy they overprice it like this. I will not get it and that feels good as I know I will feel ripped of later. With the increased price its the last nail in the coffin for me not getting it. So strangely enough "Thank you Akra!" You saved me money by increasing the price. ;-)
