If your planning on venting to atmosphere, do you have to take the recirculatoin fitting off, or can you leave it on?.. BOV is already on the charge pipe, would rather just install it the way it is instead of taking the bov off and then taking out the recirculation fitting..

Who has a synapse BOV & is venting to atmosphere??

I have a Synapse BOV and I am venting to atmosphere...I got the BOV new from Synapse..I didnt mess with anything...just plug and play!

Since I never used the recirculation fitting I actually wouldnt be of help...but if you can show a pic maybe I can help..

but thats what im asking, im not planning on using the fitting but its currently installed. The problem is well not problem but the bov is already mounted on the er charge pipe and the little screw to take off the recirculation fitting on the bottom of the bov is blocked (because of the charge pipe)..the only way to take it off would be to take of the bov from the charge pipe then unscrew it and put it back on the charge pipe..

so i was just wondering if you have to take it off or can leave it on? are there disadvantages with leaving the recirculation fitting on?

did your synapse bov come with the recirculation fitting installed? or on the side?

look at the pic in this link, u can see the recirculation fitting installed on the bov..the piece coming out the front of it..

I was confused for a second but the picture you posted really helped...

Mine came from Synapse with the recirculation fitting OFF...

So in other words..if yours goals are to vent to the atmosphere..You will have to take the BOV off the chargepipe, then unscrew the recirculation fitting, and then re-install everything again..

Hope that helps...

P.S. I see no reason why it wouldnt work if you left it on...but just spend the 15-20 min to do it right..so you can have a peace of mind later..

I accidentaly (actually ER did) left the recirculating piece on even tho I vent to the atmosphere.

The only difference it can possibly make is in the noise...

I prefer to have it on the BOV. It sounds better for my taste. Although I have modified it in a significant way...

How did you modify it? Also curious how yours sounds compared to normal...

Does the recirculating fitting make the BOV louder attached or removed? I removed mine before installing. I recently reinstalled it and it seems not to be as loud as before.

But it is way different than the HKS BOV.

How hard would it be to make another one of the version you got? Interested to see how it sounds...a video would definitely be nice...Try to make some time to make a video..Im sure some other members would be interested!!
