U.S. Mail has limits on both dimension and weight. The maximum weight of any one package is 70 lbs. and the total dimention is 109 inches. As I recall, a tire is measured by the circumference of the tire plus the circumference of the cross section, i.e., measure perpendicular to the tread and passing through the center (where the wheel goes). If you tape two together, the circumference should be the same but the cross section will be only about 50% more. Taping all four together may get under the dimensional limit but likely to exceed the weight, not to mention the awkwardness of the "package".

If there is a rim/wheel involved, it's probably better to put them each in a box.

make sure they don't separate as best as you can if shipping together.

Put individual labels on each in case they get separated. Happened to me before

Really? So if I ship two Michelin Pilot Sports that weigh about 50ibs total it would be $328??? That is more expensive than tires themselves!
