Sorry, forgot to state that. It's a chrome lip.

Armor all wheel protectant works very well to help with brake dust.

Polished Aluminium Lips

They can be either a clear coated, anodized, or bare polished aluminium (using a cleaner ax or metal polish will turn the cloth black if the metal is not coated) in which case different types of polishes are needed for each.

1. Bare (uncoated) aluminium; remove any grease with a d-limonene (citrus) based cleaner P21SŪ Total Auto Wash. Use Optimum Metal Polish and a Mother’s Powerball and then wash with P21SŪ Polishing Soap

2. Clear coated; Wash surface with P21SŪ Total Auto Wash, remove any brake dust / tar and then use a polymer sealant

Thanks, helps a lot. The wheel's lips have been sanded down before. So I'm guessing the clear is off?

After fully cleaning, I've found Poorboy's Wheel Sealant to do a good job keeping the shine up and the brake dust out.
