328i Sport Drift

This car can dance, even with the fabulous 8 Speed Steptronic! Clip is from Autocar.

Like to hear more of that exhaust. Sounds throaty.

This is a very special car! It has the same hp as our LCI 330d but amazingly produces less emissions!! 147g/km opposed to 155g/km. Less torque obviously but with the 8spd Steptronic (which we would have) it would be faster in the real world than the d as it will kickdown extremely quickly. For manuals, the d is quicker day to day but a 28i with the Sport Auto - can anything in the same class really rival it? Shame the 35i's emissions are still a little high (184g/km) but that is still an impressive figure for a Turbocharged I6!!

It will drift, I was able to get it too nicely on Catalunya in the dry. It needs some inciting but it will get going and is sustainable.

One thing to note: the chassis is surprisingly neutral- understeer in the chassis is minimal. With DSC OFF the car performs admirably best base car balance in a long while. The understeer that was shown was more than likely from staggered tires rather than chassis as it was constant and slight, just as grip wa declining. A down shift and some torque the thing comes straight no questions asked.

Talking with the engineers I learned that they were unlike the current 135, able to make the chassis neutral as most markets mandate a form of electronic stabilization as standard so the electronics make the car understeer (safety for the masses). I loved it... great motor up to just below redline, and the 8 speed is at DCT levels.

You took it round Catalunya did you? Thats excellent! Could well be the next car! However, why can I not specify a 328i Sport Line on the UK BMW website?!

It is possible the UK is not offering that packaging. Sport line may be 335 only in that market...

Car is a good time and efficient as well. It is a nice rounded out package really. Better than the E90 (I had 3 myself).
