Can anyone tune a 740i ? n54 ?

It's an n54 engine, I want to get it instead of spending extra 15k on the 750 + 740i weights 250lbs less, so I was wondering if Cobb, procede or someone else can tune it ? Thanks!

Really? What year 740 has an N54? That's cool! I dare say that the N54 is more reliable than the leak-prone BMW V8s.

lol that's Visnu Tuning's number. Call Vishnu, BMS, and COBB and ask. Simple as that. I'm not sure whether they can or not. I suggest waiting until Monday though

Well the engine is clearly identical... the problem is that the 740i has the 8 speed tranny as well as a slightly more complicated ECU to control it. As far as tuning; a call might be the best option as someone mentioned.

Now this is an example of tuning potential really losing sales of a higher price car for bmw. The ONLY thing that differentiates the 740 and 750 is the engine and more standard features which can be had on the 740 if you pay for them.

With tuning the 740 can easily be tuned to specs of a 750 and weigh 250 pounds lighter.

The arguement is I guess you can also tune their TT v8 but if you truly are happy wtih 400 hp and that is your goal than a tuned n54 would be much cheaper and lighter way to go.

This is different than an m3 v. a 335 for example since its not only the engine output but the way it delivers power and also each car is drastically different in many respects, unlike the 7 series which is basically same with different engine

If I remember correctly the 740 has a more powerfull version of the n54 than the 335?? Im not sure if Im right or not but for some reason I remember reading that somewhere.

At the end of the day...n54 wont touch the n63....(n63 dynos high 38x whp stock)
