What Methanol and PROcede Aggressive Maps can do :)

Mexico was a little cold this year. Go pro was not doing a good job of capturing video. First run was 60 roll until top of 4th. No passengers. I had a subwoofer and 135i had some stuff in the trunk. In the other races I had passenger and the 135i did not. Overall its neck and neck so any winner would just depend on who got the jump. Pretty impressive for 2 mods! We've seen what the 135 can do at the track which was a trap of 117 almost 118 on stage 2+. So its safe to say I'm right there. Later on a cobra calls us out And we give him a run for his money.

Lets keep this thread civil. No splitting hairs please.

Yea the methanol on a good tune can add a good 50-60WHP. Puts you at about 400WHP roughly. Those low 20-40 rolls were killing us in the 29 degree temps. We were all spinning tire. You can see in the last video I spun 2nd, got out of the throttle and got back in it and still pulled away. At the end of the day the Cobra couldnt touch us top end, and with full traction me and the 135i were right there. I would venture to say the Cobra was trapping 115? Not sure though.

Exactly.

Running high boost on stock downpipes can melt the internals of the catalytic converter. Its just too restrictive for high boost. My dealer has seen cars with melted cats due to running too much boost.

Theyre very expensive to replace(lets say for warranty issues or something)

I didnt for these runs but have in the past. I cant find them though case I deleted them on accident I think. Something like 18-19 mid-range tapering to 17 by 5000-6000 then tapering to 15 by redline.
Ignition is 10+ throughout the entire RPM range.

Maps are 11-25 Aggressive, Stage 2, Map 2 at 65% start boost.

The only thing that will melt cats is high EGT. And that does not come from running "too much boost". It comes from running too little ignition advance and too much boost. A scenario that does not exist with the Procede+meth combo.

Regardless, I have NEVER seen a melted cat on an n54.

You would need to buy and weld in your own EGT (exhaust gas temperature) bung and hardware.

Didn't we agree not to split hairs? lol. If he does happen to melt his cats (something I've never seen) then all he has to do is pick up a set of catless downpipes, or ask me nicely and I'll send him my stock ones for free

Just to verify. This was Stage 2+ right? Not race? So strictly pump gas for the 135i?

Goes to show that the tune + meth combo is a really cheap alternative to going FBO. Obviously if you can swing it, FBO + meth is just killer

2 problems though: who got to choose the music for the following car?

... and pics of the Cobra owner's gf? We need to see what you turned down. lol

Thanks for the kind offer. Properly tuned, with EGT kept in check, and spraying methanol (which itself keeps EGT at bay) should not be a problem for the stock cats. However, there is a potential concern that should be noted. I rather not dig too deep into it as any enthusiast should understand there will be risks and costs down the road they need to deal with. If hardware failure down the road is a concern keep your warranty and keep the car stock. Gotta pay to play.

As far as the music, hey some people like it lol
We should have got pics of the girl, I'd hit it and I'm pretty picky.

If we see this guy again I'll get his opinions on the race, outcome, and footage of the GF perhaps ha
