since the thermostat was replaced, could be either coolant or air intake sensor that's messed up, or even the fan.

Are you getting the same code, or anything?

Could just be a malfunctioning water pump, which is causing the car to over heat, and the fan to constantly be on to cool the engine. Just my thoughts, but could be anything. Hope you find a fix.

It's your pump that's also the issue...why did you go and change the TS and not the pump?

It gave me a p0128 code which is a faulty thermostat and than started giving me the overheat signal and went from yellow to red went to limp mode and slowed me down. figured the thermo was stuck open all the time and was not letting the car to warm up

The sad part is the labor they charged you to change out the thermostat was 200 bucks, now if you have to change out the pump it's going to cost another 200 as its the same procedure to do the pump. Looks like the pump is bad IMO

Mine just crapped out today.

DME code 2E82 over current to pump.

Sounds like something is jammed in there (not likely) or it's seized.

Is this the typical malfunction it just seizes up?

Yea, these pumps fail all the time, I would not buy a used one knowing that. Go new. Or plan on doing the same fix sooner then later.

Ya,not worth buying a used one it was going to cost me 375$ just for the part and probably in less than a year it would have crapped out.

I just started getting the super loud radiator fan along with these codes:

P2E82 - electrical water pump shutdown
P2E81 - Electric water pump speed deviation

I have the cobb tune on, but now have pulled it back to stage 0.

Any tips or ideas on what may be needed? Is this a new water pump? or do you think just a sensor problem?

Most likely your water pump needs replacement. I know u did not want to hear this... but lets hope I m wrong.
My car gave me a code P0128 few months ago. This I belive its a stuck open thermosthat but no overheating signs or anything. No problems at all. I went ahead and bought a BT tool and got rid of code. No codes have come back for over 2 months. Keep us posted.
