Any experience of e46 325i?

Wondering if any fellow BMW man/WOman has any experience of the E46 325i and what would be the expected average mpg.

Seen one for sale but coming from the E90 320d would I be in for a massive shock

I ran an e46 325i for a few years. It was auto and most of my driving was around town so economy is much worse than a 320d - about 23mpg. Sounded lovely though

I drive both a e92 330 and manual e46 325ci as a second car and can definitely say the fuel consumption on the e46 is poor in comparison. Around town you,re looking at 23-24mpg and up to 35 on motorways. Lovely car though even with 128k on the clock

Not quite the same but I ran an E46 323i (2.5 6cyl) for 3 yrs and averaged 34mpg.
Lovely smooth & quick motor!

I bet that 34mpg was motorway driving, right?

The one I was interested in had sold. Looking at a few 320d's too, went look at the '06 Golf GT TDI yesterday, wasnt impressed, think I've been spoilt.

Weird selection of cars, mid hatch, big saloon and thristy coupe. I quite fancied a Golf GT TDi last year but like you I wasn't impressed with what I was getting for my money. I ended up with an A3. Same car but better spec and I found the S-line A3s were much better spec'd than the A4s. Still not as comfortable as an e90 though.

What about a 2.0T Scirroco? If my wife would stop getting pregnant I'd get one of them.

The 325 was a tourer, havin a littl'un the extra room is required. If I'm honest the car I want is another E90 and was a little lost when trying to find a work working with a small budget until I move house, because theres nothing I particularily want the missis faniced a GT TDI; hence why I humored the idea.

My dad last night brought a E90 318d from Stradstone Derby and has handed me is e46 coupe keys, which I thought was a nice xmas present, think I'll run this until I find something else or move then get the E90 again.

Do like the look of the Scirroco's
