Vbox Test Results With All Seats Installed

Still have all the seats installed from my trip to Sacramento. I know some forum members where wanting me to test with a full interior, so I figured why not?

Shell 91 Octane.
Same Map#3, 60 additive.
CM7/10, NT555Rs, Etc,

Run#1 11.9 at 123.8 mph, 2.1 sec 60' No CSV Stored
0-60: 3.7 sec, 0-100: 8.2 sec

Run#2 11.9 at 123.3mph, 2.0 sec 60' CSV 0757 (See graph)
0-60: 3.8 sec, 0-100: 8.2 sec

Logs on first run didn't store but 2nd run where with same exact settings, just a back to back run.

FYI: Even with the seat in these runs are faster than my highest Vbox traps at Sacramento. Approx same temps, but 80-90% humidity that day in Sac compared to 42% here. There may be some truth to what the local racers were saying about the humidity robbing HP that day.

Also, the Famoso Private Rental is next Saturday, Dec 10th! Hoping those of you accusing me of a hidden nitrous system will show up, run against me, and check my car for hidden nitrous! If not, please refrain from further accusations in the future!

Good runs/numbers. It would seem to fall in line with what common sense has been suggesting, weight savings is where it's at

How much did this additional weight affect your best no-seat numbers?

About 1mph, .10 ET.
This is with a 2.1 sec 60'. So any good traction and this should be a mid 11second run also. After all traps are plenty fast enough. I'm not sure how many others with full interior are seeing almost 124mph vbox traps on their 335i BMWs on 91 oct-meth.

I will confirm the difference again. as the seats are coming back out today!, LOL.

Last night a friend of mine told me my air cleaners looked pretty dirty. He said that can really after our cars with these small turbos. The DCI don't have the reddish color anymore. Anyone else chime in if these look normal? Or restrictive?

Is there an easy way to clean them? Can you blow compressed air from the inside?

No bro, compressed air is bad for them
You need to get a k&n filter cleaning kit
Remove them while cold spray cleaner on outside but wash from inside out let dry then apply oil
Your teasing right? You must know this lol

Soap and water works (or a bottle of expensive air filter cleaner). Rinse, then let it sit in the sun and dry. I always re-oil after cleaning.

Im just mainly apprehensive about over oiling...etc.
Does anyone have any idea if mine are dirty enough to be costing turbo boost..hp?

They look pretty dirty, especially if you are concerned with drag times! No need to over-oil, just lightly oil and it'll disperse through the media like a sponge. And yes a direct shot of compressed air could tear the filter.

i doubt it. but its always better to have a clean filter rather then a dirty one.

id clean it. Spray filter cleaner, wait 10 minutes, just put a hose through the middle of it and run water inside out. you should see the dirt wash away and do it until the water coming out is clean. dry. and apple oil. oil is applied via spray can. and it very easy. just put a coat on it, line by line. and its ready for installation!

So 91 octane + meth, Jb4, full weight, DCI and DP's? I am very impressed this time around... Your meth must be dialed in perfectly; great results!

I am shocked that removing 400 lbs does so little though.

Oh..no..never had anything close to 400lbs! Closer to 200 lbs prob. And part of that were my 17" NT555rs which i daily drive on and were on for this test. Im predicting 125mph again without the seats. My meth would not flow properly even after many passes down the highway..and fluid actually being used. For the first time, I pulled the line at the pump and primed it. There is a possibility I was getting restricted flow at Sac.

Unfortunately my requests to do some roll ons with other 335i BMWs never materialized. If you are in socal and are avail...PM me.

Haha, yes they are a little dirty. Put a little Dawn in some warm water and soak. Rinse with cold water. If the water is really dirty, repeat. Let them dry and make sure you spray them with K&N filter oil. Should be good to go for another year.

So if everyone is worried about weight, why not replace the stock seats with race buckets? My wife keeps telling me as the kids get older they won't have enough leg room because I roll with the seat all the way back. I think I can justify a nice thin race bucket to provide a little more leg room. Eventually they won't be riding in the car so I think it will be a good time to pick up this really hot looking E92 boltin from VS Motorsports.
