Fender Bender: Get rubber off the rims?

An old lady shifted into my lane at low speeds, rubbing her tires onto my 193M rims.

I'm really hoping all the experts on this thread can help.

What is the best way to get this rubber off?

I'm not an expert, but how about a clay bar? Maybe a non-acidic cleaner, like car shampoo, Sonax, or P21S? I know the latter are more formulated for dirt and brake dust.

If you choose to go through insurance, I would at least document it...

Anyway if you want it off, chances are its just the tire "slime" or ozinant that prevents premature rot that probably got squished out or a combination of that, road film whatever else had worked its way to outer surface..

Tar remover on a towel will take care of the slimy stuff, but if its real rubber, you will probably need some hand polishing. A lot of the track decons we do with serious nasty rubber require more than a tar remover, but try that first.

I would follow up with insurance to be honest, who knows how hard of a hit the corner took when she knocked you.

Called some local stores. Pep Boys doesn't have Stoner's Tarminator, but he recommended using gasoline. Is this okay on rims?

Thanks for the quick response everyone... The local stores have *other* tar removers and wheel cleaners. Can I use these below or is it worth waiting several days to order Stoner's Tarminator online?

Solved !

Found it locally at NAPA... Works beautifully!

Stoners Tarminator does in one wipe what the car wash soap cannot do in even fifty strokes!

Thanks everyone for your help! Videos below...
