New BMW PE installed...

Just got it installed today and have to say I am very happy. One thing I was worried about was it either being too loud with or without drone, or not loud enough. But like Goldilocks said "its just right". It has the nice throaty growl I was hoping for at idle with a nice aggressive sound as you get on it. And no drone at cruise. Not crazy about the tips but don't necessary not like them either. All in all, pretty happy with the purchase. Now its time to see if the wife notices, since I have not mentioned the new exhaust. Will try to post sound clip later.

On another note, for those who have the BMW PE, it seems I recall some others saying it gets a little louder as it breaks in. Is that a consistent find for people?

I would say it gets more refined and less raspy didn't really notice it getting louder though, had had it for about 3000 - 4000 km

Same, I didnt notice much difference in noise but maybe it got a little deeper in note as it has been on the car now for probably 20k miles or so. Its exactly how I wanted it, not intrusive when cruising but you know that its there when you get on it and or have mild acceleration.

I think so, isn't the BMW PE just a rear muffler & no pipes?

for the 135i you get the rear muffler and you get a bit of the midpipe which means you are removing the stock resonator

I see, I'm running an Eisenmann, would love to go side by side with PE to see who wins.

I would assume the eisenmann would be a lot louder if its a race version and plus yours is a 328i which mean no turbo lowering the volume!

Yes, for a coupe it is just mufflers, this I know for certain. For Sedan I believe its an x-pipe AND mufflers.

As for making it louder....Im not sure why anyone would but to each their own. I like just how it is and hence I wont be touching anything exhaust related even at the expense of a few HP.

Haha, yeah man, still need to get this PE sounding a bit more aggressive, it used to sound loud in summer, but after having the Vanguard on for a while it sounds pretty mute.

For the sedan it comes with a resonator delete X-pipe - the coupes don't have resonators.

What do you mean by wins? I don't think exhausts can race side by side

... HAHA just kidding, you probably meant what's loudder. On a 335i the eisenman is a lot louder than the PE. a 328 PE is a lot quieter than a 335i PE.
A 335i Eisenman is a LOTTTT louder than a 328 eisenman.
