Care to explain?

I'd love to hear how you can justify murdering hundreds of thousands of people infront of there own families.

Thing is, even if clarkson got his way........who'd clear up the mess? He just killing anyone that would normally clean this up. I'm sure JLR1969 would oblige

I think you might be taking his comments a shade too literally...

Mate it's not even 9am and you are getting stressed, you should learn to take a step back and relax.

Do you really think that JC is serious when he made those comments, he is known for outlandish statements that grab attention.

Calm down dear.

Thought it was hilarious myself but then of course I saw the humour. Those who are so wound up about their seemingly all important strike who are now realising they have zero public support took it all a bit too serious.........How dare Clarkson go against what our great brothers the Union Leaders have told us to believe.

I like Clarkson. I know many don't. I've read all his books, except the latest. I'm hoping Father Christmas might bring it.I like the way he says what he thinks. I agree with some of his comments, not all. But you have to take them as just that "his opinion"

Fair enough, it was a joke.

I start work at 7am so by 9am I'm pretty awake and capable of getting stressed.

TBO I don't know why I could get stressed, I work in a tax office and try todo as little as possible all day. I get in for 7am, boot up my PC and login to facebook. Fire up a computer game try to get myself motivated for work by at least 11am, lunch time if I feel abit tired. My job is to watch how much tax is being collected at anyone point in time. If for some reason it's running abit low for that day I instruct a computer program send out some demand notice letters to unsuspecting members of the public or businesses. That usually gets the figures back up. If only my pension wasn't going to get cut, my life would be complete.

My job is similar, although my pension was cut 5 years ago. However, I took it on the chin and re-adjusted my personal pension contributions. You know, like a grown-up.

This is getting beyond all control with people looking for shit excuses.

Just listening to the radio apparently these comments are going to endanger the life of public sector workers from carrying out their duties.

It's a figure of speech that is used very commenly but somehow people seem to think he was deadly serious.

Are people really that stupid? Or is it the fact the reasons behind the strikes really are that weak? Has anyone actually heard a presentable case to why it's justified? I've not.

Listening to people moan on the radio how the strikes are justified because the father of my kids has to work Christmas day and will not be here to open the presents with his sons.

Last time I looked millions of people had to work Christmas day but that seems to be overlooked too.

Maybe shooting some of them was not a bad idea after all.

when will people get it through their tiny minds that Jezza is an entertainer/comedian. He is not clinically insane, and even if he were in charge of the country i don't think for one second he would go around shooting people..

unbelievable.

UNISON taking legal action? Please.. that organisation is a bigger joke than clarkson.

Oh dear, another tough one. Shall I just throw another opinion into the pot without considering the extenuating circumstances or the feelings of those people who I know from this forum who might be affected by this?

Balance I think.

Here is my opinion - I actually like Clarkson and most of you who KNOW me will know that I make similarly loud, inflammatory remarks about things which I barely have the first semblance of an understanding about. If I have the nucleus of a thought (like Clarkson) I often drive the point home in the name of comedy by exclaiming it in an exaggerated way, as loudly as possible.

In a nutshell, what Clarkson said is EXACTLY the kind of thing I would say amongst friends just to make them laugh and possibly even on here, for the same reason. I've tried to tow the line here these past few days though because we have valued members here who are being affected for valid reasons and we should take that into consideration when we make comments.

In conjunction, those people should (and may already be) understanding of the fact that like any 'public news' each and every major event will be poked and prodded by people like Clarkson and on forums because it's a good chance to get a reaction.

Bottom line is - his comment was funny and not serious. I think the 'family' bit might have been a joke too far, but the first bit was classicClarkson and I lol'd because I knew it wasn't in the least bit serious.

To suggest that people might actually go and do it and endanger public sector workers health is absolutely insane. In fact, its beyond insane and any news agency or individual reporting/suggesting it should be locked up for being so fucking stupid.

You're right - there are some incredibly fcuking stupid people about, evidently even more stupid than Clarkson.

Why is it whenever he, Jimmy Carr or others of that ilk say anything idiots run around, desperate to take offence?
