so i drive a 335i with a production date of 1 sep 2006 (sold as a 2007) and i have had the HPFP replaced once the dealership said there was a recall on it we all know of it blah blah, now im in (new dealer) with a misfire in cyl 3, and i wanted the injectors replaced because i know there was a recall on them and its obviously a fuel inj problem because of the symptoms. the SA tells me theres no recalls whatsoever? but i know this to be un-true how do i get him to honor the recalls for our vehicle??

The injector recall is only on select part numbers (likely a specfic set of production lots) and not system wide like the HPFP is. The dealer has a barcode scannere that can read the serial numbers from the injectors to determine if they are in the "bad" set. If your SNs didn't match the recalled set, then they can't cover them as a recall item.

Mine is the same production date and my SA told me the same thing.

The injectors on the early production 335i's aren't under the recall.

Attached is the SIB for the injector recall. I highly doubt they will honor it since your motor doesn't fall within the build date period of the recall. You can check the PN of the injectors you have in your car and see if they match the ones recalled. My car is an 11/06 build and it does have the injector PN covered in the recall (I checked). My dealer told me they wouldn't look into though unless I threw a code that could be associated with them failing. Its worth a shot, but like I said, I doubt they will do anything about it. Have you considered plugs and coils potentially?
