PROcede tuning question

Hi guys,

Call me crazy but I'm not a big fan of the power delivery vs throttle position that comes with the default maps. Seems a little rough to me even though everyone else says the power delivery is so smooth with these things.

What parameter do I need to adjust so that the car feels like stock if I'm only pushing the accelerator < 30-40% or so, and then PROcede starts acting once I exceed that?

I tried bumping the Boost Response setting to 50%, but still not satisfied. Maybe I need to go lower or is there another parameter?

Which maps are you running? I believe lowering the boost response further should help achieve what you are looking for. Also what are you other settings/mods?

Running the 11-1 aggressive Stg. 1 map. Completely stock except for the procede.

I'll try lowering it some more and see if it helps. I can tell a difference on the smoothness when I go into Map 0. I want Map 1 to feel like Map 0 until I get on the throttle a bit more.

Sweet! I think you are right:

New Update:
Taking things a bit further, we now give the user the ability to adjust the boost onset point. So instead of having boost target start its upwards ramp at the usual 15-20% applied throttle, the user can make it so that boost onset occurs much later. The advantage of this is that some users will find it nice to have more throttle to play with before boost is demanded. This will make a car feel "SMOOTHER" since the Procede will be less sensitive to what your right foot is doing at the beginning of the throttle range. The downside is that once the boost onset threshold is crossed, there is less range to "spread out" the boost demand. Of course, different users, with different applications, will have different ideal settings.

He then goes on to say that: Setting it to 50% will make the throttle point for boost onset increase to 40-45%.

I've got it at 50% but it sure feels like boost is coming in before the 40-45% throttle. I'll try reducing some more and see how that feels.

Thanks!!

So you want an on-off switch?

I liked how it was linear and never felt like it transitioned from stock to tuned mid pull

maybe switch back to the 7-29 maps and enable auto-tuning. they were more linear and smooth. the new aggressive maps are just that- aggressive. the throttle feel and torque delivery is a little more brutal than the older maps. i actually prefer the new 11-1 maps, but i know everyone's opinion differs.

I'm not sure I necessarily want an on/off switch, I just want the mapping to be the same as factory.

Currently it's very touchy to the throttle, I think BMW did a nice job smoothing it all out.

Yeah that would be a possibility.. But people say the 11-1 maps make more power/torque in the lower RPM range.. And I want that ability, but only if I decide to get into the throttle a bit.

The Boost Response seems like the right parameter I need to adjust, so I'll try playing with that some more to see if I can achieve the feel I want

If you don't like the throttle response of the 11-1 maps, have you tried the 7-29 maps? I felt the 7-29 maps eased into the boost a little smoother. The point of the aggressive maps are to be just that, aggressive so they may not be to your liking. The aggressive maps target a much higher boost in the midrange, so they will feel as if they are coming on stronger down low. They are intentionally set up that way. You may find the 7-29 maps much more to your liking. They are autotuning, so if you want to try them just load them up and run the defaults on map 1.

EDIT: I guess I was typing too slow. Bryce beat me to it

Yeah I've tried them and I do tend to agree with you they were a bit smoother. I suppose I sort of have this issue with always liking to run the latest and greatest updates

But I do like that the 11-1 maps run a bit richer, which is one reason I want to run 11-1.

Also keep in mind I do like aggressive, just not ALL the time.. So I want it to only be aggressive if I'm aggressive w/ the pedal.

I love the way the procede is very smooth
Much smoother than stock, feels like a big v8 rather than a tt i6

scott is ur car an MT or auto? i have the same issue you do, i like having all the power on tap down low but i want a linear throttle map tp go with it. mines still @ 100% though and the throttle i feel the boost comes in too early making it STRONG down low and little difference on the last half of pedal. if you find a good "%" to set throttle @ let me know please because what i'm up against

My opinion is that the smoother you try to make things feel; the slower the car feels... I am sure everyone has their preference on throttle positioning though.

It's an auto (unfortunately). I'll let you know if I figure it out and get a configuration I like

i've been running it on map 0 for the past two days since its been so cold and i literally havent had time change my plugs and really enjoying the stock throttle feel from 0-1/2 throttle, as to the vishnu map feeling so touchy/snappy in that range and less so on the later second half of the throttle.

like a placebo "omg my car's quick" down at lower throttle angles, then at higher throttle angles you realize theres not much left

btw i love your sig! if only (hopefully someday we'll have such things for the ol 54)

It is a little slappy but I am not sure we can do much about that; if anyone finds the perfect settings please let me know.

As far as my sig, we can all wish right
