Meth... what should i be reading?

I have been searching for threads regarding Meth, Installation, best kits etc...

But i cant believe there are no stickys, and i am not even entirely sure what i should be searching for in terms of info...

Can someone just point me in the right direction?

I want to keep things simple... reduce any meth lines etc...

So i'll stick to a windshield washer install...

Roughly how long does a a full windshield washer bottle filled with meth last?

I was hoping to remove before any warranty repairs etc... i heard meth kits are quick and easy to install and uninstall...?

The WW kit from Terry is great and very easy to install/uninstall. I would just directly plug the meth line into the ww line rather than cut and splice. Much easier and if you uninstall everything will still be factory.

I have a PWM connected to a PROcede v5 rev2.5 and use the washer tank. If I fill it up I can go for a week to two weeks depending on how hard I'm pushing the car. If I go to the track, well that's a differant story. I can go through a tank in no time. You figure if you're spraying 1gal a min, you only have 90 sec of continuous use.

I actually leave my meth kit in for service. Just make sure you tape the washer tank lid and put a note on the tape telling the service department not to put washer fluid in the tank...

If you're worried about taking your car in with mods, go ask your SA how they feel about mods. Just tell them you have been doing a lot of reading any you want to tune your car but don't want to run into any issues if you do make some minor modifications. They should be very honest with you and tell you what the dealerships polocies are with regard to tuning.

Check the first sticky here - n54tech. Much add'l info there if you're looking beyond this board; especially strong info base, JB3/4.

Meth sys's best when integrated with your tune....if you have JB4, buy Terry's excellent WW Meth kit. If Procede, buy Shiv's excellent PWM Meth kit. With either, keep your pump lower than the window wash reservoir - you want a flooded pump suction to prevent cavitation.

I believe both are PWM [Pulse Width Modulation] units, a method of controlling an analog system with digital control via time slicing. The fail-safe features are life savers - you'll love the old fashioned timing advance and newfound charge density! So will your N54....

I dont know much about the signal but they use a standard coolingmist PPS pump.

I think the jargon of pps and pwm is thrown around too lightly.

The benefit of true PWM kit is that flow is controlled by an inline valve that operates on Pulse width modulation. Whereas a traditional PPS kit using a traditional pump and the only way to control flow is by controlling the pump speed.

You cant have a true PWM kit without the inline valve...

Both CoolingMist and BMS will not comment on whether the BMS integrated system uses PWM or not.

So, we have to assume not unless shown otherwise.

Only an assumption! They may use PWM not on the solenoid but the motor, which might prolong valve life, as it's not constantly chattering.

CoolingMist says their 1 nozzle setup atomizes well down to 40 psi....BMS/CoolingMist pump's rated 220 psi.

Whether BMS's implementation's variable speed nobody will say but BMS does say their solenoid is not progressive, but on/off.

Have no data: BMS/CoolingMist CM10 nozzle atomization vs pressure curve.

But, given there are no dissatisfied customers I can find, Terry seems to have achieved the goal through whatever method.

Yup, do wish we knew what that was, but BMS may consider their solution proprietary, which I respect.
