Anyone tried Yokohama run flats?

Yokohama Advan Sport V103S Zero Pressure System ~ £218 a pair.

They're a Y speed rating though. I think this is safe up to 186mph, higher than my current w rated ones so I presume the insurance company wont have a issue with it?

When was the last time an insurance company asked what type of tyres you have? As long as the thread is the legal limit it shouldnt be an issue.

They don't 'ask' as its read you will have a 'roadworthy vehicle'.

It's up to you to have the right size, type, inflation pressure, speed and load rating for your vehicle (as well as sufficient tread of course).

Have a crash with incorrect rated tyres than on your door card and you could likely have invalid insurance (if accident is serious enough that they bother to look)

OP - but a higher speed rating will be no problem. Y rated is as high as it gets for regular cars.

This was my concern - they'll do anything not to pay out if you have an accident.

Have a look on Blackcircles.com - that's where I saw them... They seem pretty cheap for a run flat. Think I may go for it and be the tester for you guys

I guess they must be a new tyre because I've never heard anyone on here talk about them! The price is for 255 rears on 18s.

Massive error!! I meant per tyre, not per pair!

Sorry!

Still quite a bit cheaper than others though...

Be interested to see how you get on with them. They are loads cheaper than the Bridgestones - they have now up to silly money like £280 for rears when I looked the other day. In fact I think Michelin Pilot Sport 2 was cheaper.

Will probably get them in a couple of months - don't do much mileage so tyres last ages.... which is a good thing at these prices!

OK, so I've had these for a month or so, and if I'm honest, I can't really notice any difference between these and my Michelins.

Maybe at the limit you might notice some difference, but on normal road driving I think they're OK.

I'm going to get a set for the front too soon.

Sorry for the lame write up, but there's not really much to say!

But how do they compare to the OEM Bridgestone run flats?

Sorry, not sure because my car came with the French tyre so I've never driven on the Bridgestones.
