new alloys what to do?
I have a set of winter wheels coming today.
I am a bit confused on the coating for alloys especially new ones. Is there an issue with sealing and waxing new alloys? I read somewhere that paint should not be sealed for 6 months when new I think. So does this apply to alloys? Hopefully not a stupid question...

Seal with Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0, and you should be good for a very long time
Once you seal it, you can use a liquid wax every other week to keep it looking good (quick detailer) Opti-Coat is supposed to last forever, have a search about it. Looks great! |

I've got fk1000 as the sealant. So harm in layering on to news wheels?
Will look into the opti coat as am pleased with results from opti seal.

I'd coat them for sure.

I would consult the wheel shop for a recommendation on a time frame. After that time period is up you can protect them with a traditional sealant like the Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant. The Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 Permanent Paint Coating is another good option as it's extremely strong and will protect up to several years as opposed to weeks or months.

Cheers All,
I have coated them. Hopefully not to the detriment of the alloys. Opti coat sounds the nuts but easy to get wrong. Any downfalls of the product. The link you gave Detailed Image said to be used by experienced detailers only. That ain't me.
