My M6 vs my son's 335i Procede

Thought I would post here before my son starts making some outlandish claims

My M6 is stock less the carbon filters, and my son's ( Barat on this board) 335i 6MT coupe is also stock with a Procede chip. We did a few runs yesterday, and as I expected, his car is awesome. I was in p500 DSC off D5, and he was able to keep up till towards the end of my 3rd gear, then I simply walked away. Last run I tried S6, by 2nd gear I was inching ahead and I walked away in third. Still very impressive performance from the 3. On one of the runs I was too eager on the throttle so I missed the start and he got ahead by a couple car lengths, and I could not catch up.

I timed one of the D5 runs with my Gtech, 2.4s to 60', 4.5s to 60mph, 12.6s @120mph.

I wonder what the upcoming e90 M3 would do against this 335i.

Hey, i see this is your first post, so i would like to welcome you.

That's really cool that you have the M6 (hope years down i will get one) and your son has the 335i.

I also have the PROcede on my 6MT 335i and it's a AWSOME car itself, and the PROcede is the Icing on the cake. I feel the pull in all the gears, and in higher speed i feel the 5th gear pull REALLY good.

My whole family has BMW's and we believe they are great cars! I find the drive being ultimate! I hope when I have kids and they grow up, i will be in the same possition, BMW family = )

Welcome to the forum, and post pics when you can.

For the 335 to match a M6/M5 it needs several mods in addition to PROcede:
LSD, extreme performance tires, CDV replacement, coilovers & swaybars. With these mods a 335 is likely to have a slight advantage in sub-100 mph range; above that the Ms rule.

Thanks for the pre-emptive strike Dad. In a nutshell both cars were neck in neck from 0 to 90/100 mph and it was a driver's race, after that the M6 would start pulling away. I was surprised that it was that close.

Just goes to show everyone exactly what a PROcede 335i is capable of; it may not be the fastest car in the world, but it's just as quick (at least from 0-100mph) as many other, much more expensive and exclusive sports cars. Whether going against an M3, M5, M6, MB AMG, Audi S4, Porsche 911, or whatever, the BMW 335i with a $1,300 PROcede has proven to be a VERY competitive high performance car. :rocks:

Nice. Thanks Barat and Dad for sharing.

Mr M

Before accusing people of shilling, why don't you visit m5board where I posted 86 posts as YUL M5 since I bought my M5 in 2005. The M6 replaced it last January.

Leave YUL M6 alone about the wheels

He lives in Montreal......they get feet (not inches) of snow at a time.

I have YUL to thank for getting Sirius in Canada.....he will be adding lots of good input / experience on this board.
